Purists may not approve of the quality of its code, but Microsoft Word lets you save your documents into HTML and, for the most part, the end result is fine. If you want to convert your document into HTML you can choose from three different options, each of which has its own advantages.
To get started, from the File menu, click Save As and then select the file type you want to use:
-
Single file web page – one large web page with the images embedded into the page.
-
Web Page – like above except the images are held in a separate folder.
-
Web Page, Filtered – web page which has removed the Word-specific features.
-
The third option—Web Page, Filtered—allows you to significantly reduce the size of web pages created in Microsoft Word.

Josh Karlin has released a great new (and FREE) program that indexes the programs in your start menu and can launch your documents, project files, folders, and bookmarks with just a few keystrokes!

Launchy indexes files in locations other than your start menu.
Here are some tips that we use and recommend.
Index your Bookmarks & Folders
-
- Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Favorites
- File Type: .url
- Index your Music
- Directory: My Documents
- File Types: .mp3 .aac .ogg
- Index your Pictures
- Directory: My Documents
- File Types: .jpg .gif .bmp
- Index your Documents
- Directory: My Documents
- File Types: .doc .pdf .xls .ppt
- Index custom Commands
- Directory: Your Custom Folder
- File Types: .exe .bat .lnk
Once Launchy has been started, it hides in the background. You bring it forward by holding the alt key and tapping the space key. You then type in a few keys of the program you are searching for and hit enter once it has been found. You can also make Launchy dissappear again by hitting escape or alt+space.
